THE PRELUDE TO WAR!

I.  The Assassination

     A. Sarajevo was the capital of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
          1.  This area was predominately Serbian.
          2.  The Archduke Francis Ferdinand and his wife Sophia
               were on a mission of Goodwill.
          3.  Austria-Hungary had just been given Bosnia-Herzegovina
               from the Congress of Berlin.
          4.  Gavrillo Princip assassinated the Archduke and his wife.  The
                assassin was a member of the Black Hand society opposed
                to Austro-Hungarian rule.
           5.   Austria-Hungary declares war on Serbia.
