THE TRENCH SYSTEM (14)

IN THE AIR (9)

Women in World War One
For this project use a standard size YELLOW poster board.  List all pertinent facts in reference to Women in World War One.  BE NEAT!!  Decorate your poster board with a collage of pictures that represent Women in the First World War. You may wish to attach additional pieces of construction paper to the corners of your poster board to illustrate a few of the WOMEN IN WORLD WAR ONE posters.  Creativity is important.  The sky is the limit here. 

Doughboys (American Soldiers) (1)
On a GREEN standard size poster board, discuss the origin of the Doughboy and their role in the FIRST WORLD WAR.  Be sure to put pictures on the poster board.   VISUAL:  Re-create a life-like standing replica Doughboy using poster board, cardboard or any other household item.  In other words, create a Doughboy from scratch!!  Decorate this visual in proper dress and have him holding on to the poster board that displays all the important facts about his role across seas.  Life-like and life-size is the key to this visual and will most certainly get you that A++++!!

MAJOR BATTLES (24)
ON a DARK GREEN poster board that measures 22” X 22”, detail the most important facts about the Battle that you have chosen.  Be sure to include why it was important to WWI, what, if any gains were made to either side, casualties etc…. Voices from the past (3)
On a BLACK standard size poster board, create a letter via Voices from the past.  Type your letter or hand write it NEATLY.  The paper should be at least THREE PAGES typed or 5 pages written and should be attached SECURLY in order on your poster board.  Your visuals should surround your paper and the title should read BIG: Voices from the past. 

Shell-Fire and Self-Inflicted Wounds 
Write a letter to your wife. Describe to her your life in the Trench and these two words (Shell-fire and Self-Inflicted Wounds) as it applies to you and to those around you.  Be sure to include pictures that illustrate what you see, hear, smell and feel. You can also put your emotional opinion in this paper.

On a GREEN poster board that measures 22” X 22”, recreate the letter that your person wrote NEATLY. Recreate an authentic version of the Zimmerman Note.  Remember, it is VERY old now so it should LOOK OLD.  Include pictures of those who sent and those who received it.  Make sure you also indicate which Countries were involved with this letter.  MAKE IT BIG SO PEOPLE CAN READ IT!!!!  Make sure you title it with a FLASHY TITLE too.

On a standard size BROWN poster board, list Wilson’s 14 Points NEATLY!!  VISUAL:  Using poster boards, cardboard or any other household object, CREATE A WOODROW WILSON standing replica!!!!  Have him holding his poster board that discusses the 14 Points!!!  Creativity here will get ya that A++++++!!!!!  Be sure to make him life-like and life-size!! On a standard size WHITE poster board, discuss the most important members that were present at the Treaty of Versailles.  Be sure to include pictures of each and list important points that relate to them and their demands at the end of WWI.  Under this poster board, attach SECURELY via string, cut out poster board strips, YOU DECIDE, THREE other 14” X 14” poster boards that discuss/list the most important points about these following topics: WHAT HAPPENED AT THE PEACE CONFERENCE
            WHAT DID PEOPLE IN GERMANY THINK ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
             WHAT DID PEOPLE IN ITALY THINK ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

Be sure to also include COOL visuals to illustrate these three topics.   

 

CASUALITIES OF THE GREAT WAR (1)
On TWO standard size poster boards, GREEN for WORLD CASUALTIES and RED for the AMERICAN BREAKDOWN, re-create the causality charts to illustrate the great loss of life because of WWI.  BE NEAT and precise with this endeavor.  THE BIGGER THE BETTER.  You may wish to put these charts over some type of picture that illustrates a helmet on top of a cross that marks a grave etc….You decide by using your own creative genius.  This project will have a HUGE impact on many as they see just HOW MANY LIVES where lost to the GREAT WAR.  Do this topic justice as you dedicate it to all those that died!!!!
